COVID-19 VACCINE INFO:
As of September 14, 2022 the POL EOC has re-opened the COVID-19 vaccination drive thru site at the Mesita Public Safety Complex.
The new Omicron Booster is here. Accourding to the CDC you are no longer “Up to Date”, if you are eligible for the Omicron Booster and do not have it. The BA4 and BA5 Omicron variants are dominant in New Mexico now and have been causing severe symptoms, hospitalizations and unfortunately we have had three deaths in the Pueblo. Please remember if you are not “Up to Date”, and if you are exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, you will have to quarantine if you live here in the Pueblo. Protect yourself and your family, and get “Up to Date”.

EDUCATION:
“Living in a COVID-positive world requires discipline from all of us. It is up to you to keep you, your family, and your community safe.”
The video below has been produced to help educate and inform the community about the COVID-safe practices that we have been asked to adhere to and obey during this global pandemic. More videos are soon to come.
In anticipation of the arrival of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Pueblo of Laguna established a working group through Tribal Council Resolution 08-20, to prepare a coordinated tribal response to this outbreak. This group is closely monitoring the outbreak situation and providing updates to the Tribal Administration daily. The goal of this group is to provide:
- A single accurate source of information specific to the Pueblo.
- Tracking of any and all possible exposures in the Pueblo.
- Timely response and guidance to any health issues related to COVID-19.
- Continued guideline implementation and planning to address this rapidly evolving situation.
All goals and guidance are provided in cooperation and in close communication with Tribal Administration.
In order to keep abreast of the accurate information that is available, we strongly encourage all POL employees to register for the Emergency Notification System. The Pueblo of Laguna working group will be sending out accurate information taken from reliable sources such as the State of New Mexico Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Department of Homeland Security. We encourage you to use those sources and our ENS system and the Laguna Pueblo website as the only source for COVID-19 information. The reason we encourage this as the only source is that social media and even mainstream media websites contain erroneous and misleading information.
To register for the Emergency Notification System, click on www.lagunapueblo-nsn.gov/alerts. There is no cost for this service and in addition to reliable COVID-19 information, it also provides information on road closures, electrical outages, and other issues that may affect the Pueblo.
Please share this with as many community members as you can. We would like to get the word out that we will continue to closely monitor this situation and will also do our best to keep you informed on the status of this situation and the impact it is having on the Pueblo.
Be assured that the Pueblo of Laguna is on top of this issue. See our up-to-date Community Resource Guide below! It includes information on closures and essential resources for our communities as well as contact information.
Regards,
-Pueblo of Laguna COVID-19 Operational Team
